Letter of Appreciation for Deborah Stratton, Russell and Jeffcoat Realtors My name is Charles S. Cook, and my wife, Mary L. Cook and I decided to begin looking at a potential home in the Columbia area in the fall of 2013. Mary had been looking for several weeks on-line and was very encouraged by the options here and we anxiously called the listing agent for several of the properties we found. Deborah Stratton was the first to respond to our questions. We quickly scheduled a home check for that first look at the first listing. Sadly, the home fell short of our expectations, but Deborah had a list of other properties similar to the one we asked to see lined up and ready for us to check. We checked that weekend and again for the next few weekends, but Mary and I were not quite ready to purchase our home, and we asked Deborah to let us think for a few months, and she again met our expectations. Then, as the summer of 2014 was in full swing, we were close to our decision to either stay in Columbia or move to another city or state. We asked Deborah to show us some more homes and she quickly assembled a list of homes within our set of guidelines. Throughout the summer, we looked at several dozen homes, settling on and bidding on one, a “short sale” home. Deborah advised us to all of the things that happen in such deals, and every one of the things she warned us of occurred. Our bid on the home was a competitive bid, at about ninety-eight percent of the asking price, but in the last round after several months, our bid was not accepted. Then, in the fall of 2014, on 19 September, during the conclusion of the Columbia/Lexington Tunnel to Towers run, Mary and I realized that Columbia was the new home city for us. We called Deborah the next morning and told her that we were ready to find a home again. Deborah took us to homes for the next three weeks, showing us every home that fit within our price range and feature demands, and did an outstanding job in finding what we wanted every time, but we were very selective. Finally, we gave Deborah what seemed to me to be an un-findable set of demands; Deborah found exactly what we were looking for. We bid and now have purchased our dream home, a home that we would never have found without Deborah Stratton, and a house that Mary and I are just tickled to call our home every time we pull into the driveway. Deborah Stratton met our demands for price range and features every time we changed what we were asking for. She always found more than I thought possible. I was ready to just “take the next one” we had looked at so many houses, but we kept on checking. Then, when we came to our dream home, it was perfect. Deborah spent time, found a house that met our demanding set of features, and met our price range, then, the house was in near perfect condition at the end of the inspection. Now, Mary and I are proud to call ourselves South Carolinians, and Columbians! We are both very glad that we contacted Russell and Jeffcoat, albeit just by the chance of Deborah being the most responsive and professional of all agents that we reached out to.
